Active listening is at the core of my practice; by asking thoughtful follow-up questions and guiding the conversation from a place of deep, genuine interest, I can gather higher-quality data and insights. I recognize the value of qualitative data as a deeply personal resource, and I always ensure that participants are compensated for their time and insights. I approach each session without making assumptions about a person’s social, economic, or psychological background. I make it a point to ask for preferred names and pronouns. I also respect the scheduled start and end times of every session- recognizing that each individual’s time is valuable.
